Reduce to Net Zero with Persefoni - Q&A

Question:  Do you have to set a target upon first onboarding Persefoni, or can you focus just on the inventory and set a target later?

Answer:  Persefoni is here to evolve with you as you move through the stages of decarbonization. You do not have to start with a target and can focus first on the inventory. We have these additional resources to help companies with the 'so what' once they have their footprint in order.

Question:  Does Persefoni allow an organization to have customer-specific emissions reporting across multiple service modes (Air, Ground, Ocean)?

Answer:  Yes, supplier-specific emissions can be reported through our external calculation pathway today. We are also adding functionality for this around uploading individual custom emission factors and direct data collection from suppliers.

Question:  For financial services company, do you have an ability to set decarbonization pathways for financed emissions (scope 3)? Do you calculate implied temperature rise?

Answer:  Yes, we have an add on module called Climate Trajectory Modelling with data from SBTi's Temperature Rating Methodology regression models that can support target-setting for portfolios.

Question:  Is the Persefoni Reduce Footprint tool able to be a standalone target setting/carbon decarbonization pathway tool, or does it need to be in conjunction with say a consultant?

Answer:  The platform can be used as a stand-alone product to support development of a greenhouse gas inventory and to model various decarbonization pathways. However, implementation of a decarbonization pathway will require additional resources, whether those come from internal stakeholders or a company chooses to hire consultants.

Question:  Perhaps I missed it but where do you get the data for Scope 3 emissions? Is that proprietary data you offer or are you getting it from somewhere else? How do you ensure accuracy of supplier emissions data

Answer:  Currently, users import their own Scope 3 emissions data either through data integration, the intelligent bulk uploader, or manually.

Supplier emissions data will also be imported by customers and in the future, we will be releasing features to allow you to request this data from the supplier themselves.

Ensuring accuracy of the data is something our subject matter experts internally support with currently, and we aim to build out features in our tool to help with this overtime as well.

We do also maintain emission factors within the platform, including publicly available and purchased emission factor sets.
